We’re looking for a highly-driven and motivated Director, Logistics for our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a track record as a significant individual contributor – comfortable working independently, whilst working closely with the management team.
This role will be based in Singapore and will report to the Managing Director.
About the job:
As our Director, Logistics, you will be responsible for setting up and optimizing processes, while running the day to day operations of the business:
Responsibilities:
- You will be empowered with full responsibility of the logistics of the business, leading a team of Logistics professionals as well as overseeing our rider partners
- Lead our logistics strategy - Challenge the status quo and find innovative ways to improve the logistics and operations ecosystem
- Full ownership of the logistics P&L
- Continuously optimize the structure of the Logistics department and manage it for maximum cooperation and productivity
- Own and Analyze KPIs to improve the delivery setup and overall operational performance, and take customer experience to the next level
- Scale and maintain our rider fleet - Ensure a constant and adequate inflow of rider supply and focus on rider retention, community and engagement
- Understand the value of competitive intelligence by proactively tracking the logistics and eCommerce industries to stay ahead of the curve in competitiveness and innovation
- Lead the optimization of processes and staffing for our Asia-Pacific Shared Service Centre in Malaysia to have a positive impact in riders’ day to day work
- Digitalize and automate internal processes in all the logistics verticals
- Work closely with relevant APAC teams on best practices and manage product rollouts locally, ensuring measurable impact and little to no friction for the end users (riders)
- Using a bottom up approach, continuously discover improvement opportunities and solutioning with clear business impact for the product to solve in the long term, while crafting short/mid-term workarounds
- Support other departments with operational guidance and resources
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, economics, or any other quantitative field (STEM)
- You have at least 5 years of work experience in operations or a high growth start-up
- You have strong leadership and communication skills, work independently and are reliable
- You are process-oriented and data-driven
- You have strong analytical skills, ability to extract & analyze data, and presenting concise and actionable insights; SQL experience is a plus
- You have a depth of knowledge of the internet and e-commerce sectors
- You are driven and ambitious
- You are proactive and can lead projects independently, end-to-end
- You are highly proficient in spoken and written English
- Experience working in high-volume fast-paced environment is preferred
- You are confident and comfortable with questioning the status quo when needed
- You are dynamic and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
