Manager, Food Safety & Quality

We are looking for a talented Food Safety & Quality Manager who is able to support the expansive growth of our dark store business, pandamart. The role will directly influence the day-to-day decision making within our Food Safety & Quality Management across our Malaysia portfolio.

This role will be based in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur (countrywide-mobility required & potential to relocate) and will report to the Food Safety & Quality Manager (SGMY).

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Pandamart Food Safety Management System (FSMS)

• Record, monitor and action on store operational performance against our food safety standards to improve key operational metrics including shrinkage and availability

• Help strengthen Food Safety & Quality Management (FSQM) policies and enable across all stores within Malaysia’s portfolio

• Deliver information or training to suppliers, store managers and senior leaders to create a strong knowledge centered on FSQM. Localise and create training materials, procedures & records.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain & Commercial Teams on initiatives while upholding FSQM.

• Perform monthly audits at our stores and distribution centers

• Monitor and own the customer-experience journey including actionable items on how to improve the incident rate

• Work closely with every store-level manager with data-driven insights on how to improve and align their operational SOPs

• Ensure the labeling of our Private Label Portfolio is in line with local legislation

• Liaise between Local Authority Enforcement Officers in cases of informal or legal action.

• Manage product recalls

• Diploma or equivalent in Food Science or appropriate science discipline

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance in Food, FMCG or E-commerce companies. 

• Expertise in developing and implementing food safety & quality system, policies and standards

• Candidates with experience in JAKIM & Halal regulations will be an added advantage

• Candidates with GMP / HACCP, ISO22000 trained will be an added advantage

• Focused on Food Safety & Quality improvement and ability to coach a large portfolio of stakeholders

• Analytical mind and business acumen with ability to work with large amounts of data to discover patterns and trends and to form conclusions based on findings.

• Ability to manage complexity and be comfortable with ambiguity

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
