Job description


About the opportunity

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate filing and payment of national taxes (e.g., income tax, value added tax, withholding taxes, among others)
  • Facilitate and assist in the external and internal tax audits
  • Address and manage tax notices and assessments, including coordination with examiners, review of document and schedules prepared by the team, and the check of the propriety of the assessment findings
  • Prepare and update tax filing calendars for all the stakeholders across the company
  • Assist in the preparation of Transfer Pricing Documentations (if necessary)
  • Keep abreast of appropriate tax regulatory changes impacting assigned entities and translate changes into the processes and systems to ensure compliance
  • Ensure final returns, working files and other related documents are stored on GDRIVE and determine if there are documents required by country law to be archived physically or electronically.
  • Address the issues noted during day-to-day activities and review recommended solutions
  • Help in training the different stakeholders in enhancing their tax awareness and consciousness towards the company’s compliance with national tax laws
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Finance Director and/or Group Tax

What you need to be successful

  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant
  • With at least three (3) years of experience in various practice areas of Tax, which may include but are not limited to the preparation and filing of tax returns, support in tax compliance reviews, tax planning, and assistance in tax assessments, either from an audit firm or a multi-national company
  • With relevant experience in handling a logistics company
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
  • Team player with strong analytical, interpersonal and negotiating skills as well as an independent way of working
  • Can deal with and communicate with the different government agencies, such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue, among others
  • An eye for detail along with excellent analytical and research skills is a must
