What’s it like to be a product manager?
A few members of the team: featuring our product managers and designers
Product managers are great at creating a vision and strategy. They cook up the best products integrating market research and industry insights, with stakeholder input. We know these sound like a bunch of buzzwords, but don’t worry! We sat down with Naomi Lobo, our Group Product Manager for Subscriptions, to talk about the nature of her work.
What do you do as a Product Manager?
I’m currently leading our Subscriptions, also known as pandapro. I work alongside highly skilled engineers, designers, analysts, and business teams to create a strategy and execute this vision!
What’s your favourite part about being a Product Manager at foodpanda?
My two favorite parts of being on the Product Team are:
- The chance to build a product that is loved globally. Whenever I’m traveling or meeting new people and we get to talk about our jobs, they’ll always tell me how they absolutely love the foodpanda app and how it made their life so much easier.
- The team I get to work with – I’m grateful to be working with some of the smartest and kindest people in the industry.

How has foodpanda helped you grow?
When you are building products that people from different countries and nationalities use, it helps you learn about how each market has its own nuances. This broadens your thought process. Working at foodpanda has really helped me empathize more deeply with our users, which motivates me to always build products that I hope they’ll love.
Lastly, what does a day in the life of a Product Manager look like?
A day in the life of a Product Manager probably varies from person to person. For me, no two days are the same in terms of what I’ll focus on. Some days I’m gearing up with the team to launch one of our most awaited features, sometimes I’m planning our product roadmap for the next quarter. Regular parts of my routine involve meetings with the team and other stakeholders, analyzing and assessing data, reviewing documents, and ensuring everything is on track for all of our upcoming product launches!
